We at Steingold Volvo Cars want you to know all about your tires, specifically, how to read the tire size.

The first letter on the tire indicates the type of tire. The numbers following the letter are the section width of the tire from one sidewall to the other sidewall. The section width is read in millimeters. Next, the aspect ratio is listed and refers to the height of the sidewall and is read as a percentage of the section width. The letter following the aspect ratio indicates the tire speed rating. Z rated tires have the highest speed rating. Next, the construction of the tire is listed. The most common type of construction is radial, which is indicated by an R. The wheel diameter is indicated next and lists the size of the wheel that a tire fits and is read in inches. The Load index is the final letter and designates the maximum carrying load of the vehicle.

We invite you to visit us at Steingold Volvo Cars and test drive your choice of vehicles.
